Terms of Service
Last updated October 30, 2026
These terms govern your use of Margin's apps and website, provided by Altuzar.dev (“Margin”, “we”). By creating an account or using Margin you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Margin.
1. Who can use Margin
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK) and able to form a binding contract, or have permission from a parent or guardian. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity on your account.
2. What Margin is — and isn't
Margin is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NCSBN, LSAC, NCBE, NBME, FSMB, AAMC, AICPA or any exam owner, and does not use or reproduce official exam items. Exam names are trademarks of their owners.
Readiness scores, pass chances and score estimates are statistical estimates to guide your studying. They are not predictions or guarantees of any exam result. Content is educational and is not medical, legal, financial or professional advice — always rely on authoritative sources and your training.
3. AI-generated content
Some questions, explanations, flashcards, summaries and tutor replies are generated by AI and may contain errors. Use the report button to flag anything that looks wrong; reported items are removed from your practice. Don't rely on AI content for decisions about patient care, legal matters or financial reporting.
4. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Margin requires a paid subscription. Prices and billing periods are shown before you buy.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Free trials: if your plan includes a trial, you'll be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. We'll send a reminder before a trial ends.
- Introductory and discounted offers (such as 50% off a first year) apply only for the stated period and then renew at the regular price.
- Where you're billed: in-app purchases are billed and managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their terms; cancel in your device's subscription settings. Web purchases are billed through Stripe via RevenueCat; manage or cancel from the billing link in Settings → Subscription.
- Refunds: App Store and Google Play refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies. For web purchases, contact support@altuzar.dev within 14 days of a charge and we'll review your request; where local law gives you a right to a refund or withdrawal, we'll honor it.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple, Google or Stripe — cancel it there too.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the notes, files and messages you add (“Your Content”). You give us a limited license to store, process and transform Your Content — including sending it to our AI providers — solely to provide Margin to you. Only upload content you have the right to use. Don't upload other people's personal or health information.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Margin. For example, don't:
- use Margin to cheat on, or to obtain or share live or confidential content from, any actual exam;
- copy, scrape or resell Margin's content, or share your account;
- reverse engineer the service, interfere with it, or exceed usage limits through automation;
- upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content, or use the tutor to generate it.
We may set reasonable daily limits on AI features to keep the service fast and fair for everyone.
7. Our content
Margin's software, design, original questions and other materials are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own exam preparation while your subscription is active.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Margin and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or use Margin in a way that could harm others or the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
9. Disclaimers
Margin is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Margin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for exam outcomes, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Margin after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where your local consumer law gives you rights that can't be waived.
13. Apple-specific terms
If you downloaded Margin from the App Store, you acknowledge these terms are between you and Margin, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Apple's Standard EULA also applies to your use of the iOS app.
